This course is designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively identify, understand, and combat disinformation. Through a series of engaging modules, you will gain:
- Conceptual Clarity: Understand the relevance and current global discussions on disinformation.
- Regional Sensitivity: Learn about the impact of disinformation in different regional contexts through expert insights.
- Technological Insight: Explore the role of artificial intelligence and social media in spreading disinformation.
- Practical Skills: Acquire practical tips and tools to protect yourself and others from Disinformation.
The “Disinformation Compass” includes videos, expert interviews, quizzes, and feedback tools, all designed to enhance your learning experience. This course will evolve progressively. You can start with the first module, containing 3 videos, interactive tools and a link library for further reading.
Disinformation Compass
At the end of this course, there is a possibility to share your experiences with disinformation and to give us feedback – about what you liked, felt was missing, etc. More videos - from 5 regions from around the world- will be produced and published in soon in a second edition of this course. They will concentrate on cases and contexts of disinformation in specific regions of the so-called Global South and Eastern Europe. The expertise comes from DW Akademie as part of Deutsche Welle.
