The Covid-19 pandemic had far-reaching
consequences for global health. Not only have countless people died from covid
and its consequences, but years of progress in promoting health and well-being
have been compromised. Access to and trust in healthcare services has been
reduced, mental health issues (e.g. depression and anxiety disorders) have
increased, and adequate care to prevent and combat diseases such as malaria or
HIV has not been available. The BMZ's One Health approach addresses
the challenge of assessing the health of people, animals and ecosystems as a
whole and finding appropriate solutions to prevent global health risks. If you
are interested in how the One Health approach is being applied in different
projects worldwide, the Panorama One Health offers you a
great overview.
